Anyone here weighed land bank lots against buying overseas?
I've been watching the county listings for about two years and picked up a vacant lot last spring, mostly to keep the block from going to weeds. My brother-in-law keeps telling me I should be looking overseas instead. His argument is that in parts of southern Europe the entry price isn't far off what we pay here for a lot, and the season you can actually rent something out is a lot longer. I'm sceptical, mainly because I have no idea how title and registration work over there, or who you'd even call if something went sideways. Here at least I know which office to walk into. Has anyone in this group actually gone through with a purchase abroad? Curious what the paperwork looked like in practice and whether it was worth the extra hassle compared with buying local.
