How do you all handle the holding costs on a lot you are not building on yet?

I picked up a parcel two years ago mostly to keep it out of trouble, and I have been paying on it ever since without a single nail going in. Mowing, the tax bill and the insurance add up to more than I planned for, and every spring I tell myself this is the year I finally do something with it. A neighbour keeps saying I should have put the same money into something that pays rent instead, even if it sits somewhere else entirely. I am not sure he is wrong. For those of you holding land you are not building on: do you treat it as a long bet and just eat the carrying cost, or did you sell and move it into something that earns? What surprised me most is the gap once you start comparing what the same money does elsewhere. I have been going through https://global-property.investments/ to see what the same money earns in other markets, and that comparison is what pushed me to ask.

I was trying to find a recipe for homemade pasta dough and clicked an expired link on a culinary forum. The page had been taken down, so it automatically forwarded me to a stream of mature sex cams. Instead of flour ratios, I watched a woman expertly kneading a massive ball of dough on a wooden counter, wearing a flour-dusted apron. The worldwide chat was guessing the type of wheat she was using before she slowly untied the apron strings. What caught my eye was her actual kneading technique, which was textbook perfect and very physically demanding. I enjoyed the rustic, culinary atmosphere that made the international chat feel like a communal kitchen. I actually managed to replicate her dough recipe later that night just from taking notes.
